Seminar: in vivo Delivery of gene or nucleic acid with Atelocollagen

Atelocollagen has been used as a biocompatible material for soft tissue augmentation for many years, and its usefulness and safety have already been proven. Furthermore it has been attracting attention as a biomaterial with many unique characteristics. In this seminar, three speakers present the possibility of using atelocollagen as a gene or nucleic acid delivery carrier in vivo.

Lecture 1: In vivo RNA interferences by local or systemic administration of siRNA using atelocollagen ― Applications of a novel product “AteloGene® “―
Yuzo Tarumi, Division of Innovative Technology, Koken Co., Ltd.

Lecture 2: Gene therapy for FAP by single stranded oligoncleotides/atelocollagen complex
Yukio Ando and Masaaki Nakamura, Department of Diagnostic Medicine, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University

Lecture 3: Molecular targeting cancer therapy against tumor angiogenesis involving RNA interference: in vivo siRNA delivery system with atelocollagen
Yoshifumi Takei, Department of Biochemistry, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine

Chair: Takahiro Ochiya, Section for Studies on Metastasis, National Cancer Center Research Institute
